Broke Mugger Makes Off With $3

Targeted Teens on their Way to School

BRONX- A low-end mugger targeting teens on their way to school has struck three times making with off a pair of headphones and $3 cash.

Cops say the suspect, believed to be teenager himself, struck three times in the Fordham Manor area throughout the month.

The first incident happened at 7:40 am on October 10 at Valentine Avenue and 192nd Street. One of the muggers walked up to a 15-year-old, displayed a knife and demanded the teen’s headphones. The teen gave up the item and the suspect fled.

The next day at around 7:15 am, the suspect approached a 14-year old in the vicinity of the Grand Concourse and 192nd Street. The suspect displayed a knife and threatened to stab the teen with it. The suspect then fled but it is not clear if he made off with any property.

A half hour later the thief struck again this time with some success. He ran up to a 14-year-old at the same location. Displaying a knife he demanded cash. The teen handed over $3.

The last incident was by far the mugger’s biggest haul. At around 7:20 am on October 13, the suspect approached a 14-year-old girl inside St. James Park. He approached the teen from behind and placed the knife to her back. He yanked the girl’s cell phone out of her hand and fled on a bicycle.

The suspect is described as a black male between the ages of 16 and 18. He is 5 foot 8 and weighs between 130 to 150 pounds. He was last seen wearing a gray hooded sweater, dark colored jeans and blue sneakers.
